Amanda Selvenis serves as the Executive Director of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra, bringing together a lifelong love of the arts with a strong background in education and leadership. A graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, she holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in English literature and curriculum & instruction, and spent over a decade as an educator in the Harrisburg area before returning to her hometown with her two young sons. Amanda joined the ASO staff in 2022 and quickly demonstrated her dedication, vision, and passion for the organization. In 2024, she was named Executive Director. She plays a vital role in connecting the symphony with the community, fostering partnerships, and supporting artistic excellence. Her experience in music, public service, and organizational leadership has shaped her relationship-focused approach to nonprofit management.
Amanda is passionate about making orchestral music accessible, relevant, and entertaining for the greater Altoona community. She is proud to work alongside the talented staff, musicians, and supporters of the ASO to sustain a vibrant cultural presence in central Pennsylvania. When she's not at the symphony office or Mishler Theatre, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, restoring her Victorian home in Hollidaysburg, and enjoying arts and cultural events.
